Graduation Requirements

STUDENTS REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING CREDITS TO GRADUATE

  • a minimum of 18 course credits
  • no more than 7 Grade 10 courses may be counted toward the 18 credits required for graduation
  • a minimum of 5 credits must be earned from Grade 12 courses

Language, Communication, and Expression

  • 3 English language arts (one at each Grade: 10, 11 and 12)
  • 1 Fine Arts (Art, Dance, Drama or Music)

Math, Science, and Technology

  • 2 Mathematics credits
  • 2 Science credits (one from Biology, Chemistry, Integrated Science, or Physics and one other approved science course)
  • 2 others from Math, Science, or Technology

Personal Development and Society

  • One of: Physical Education 10, Dance 11, Physically Active Lifestyles 11, Yoga 11
  • 1 Canadian History (one from Canadian History, Acadian History, African Canadian Studies, or Mi’kmaq Studies)
  • 1 Global Studies (Global History 12 or Global Geography 12)

B. Students entering grade 10 in September 1997-2000 must complete the following:

  • a minimum of 18 course credits
